CHANGE YOUR CYDIA ICON (iOS 7 Theme)

Have you ever wanted to changeCydia icon logo on your iPhone running on iOS7 ? Don't worry, we've got a new simple method that lets you quickly change Cydia icon logo with one that has a more flat or modern design. Those interested can find step-by-stepinstructionsahead…

The first step is to tap on Cydia and install iFile, a jailbreak application that allows you to access and make changes to the iOS filesystem. You’ll then want to visit this article from an iOS device, tap on one of the Cydia logos in the gallery below and save it to Camera Roll. Further icons are available on devianART and Reddit.

After that you've chosen the logo, follow the following steps:

STEP 1: Navigate to /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE to find the logo you just saved. It should be near the bottom of the list.

STEP 2: Tap on Edit in the top menu, select the logo, tap the clipboard icon in the bottom menu and select Copy/Link.

STEP 3: Navigate to /SystemApplications/Cydia.app

STEP 4: Tap on Edit in the top menu, followed by the clipboard icon, and select Paste.

STEP 5: Find icon@2x.png in the same folder, tap the blue arrow icon to the right of it and rename the file to something similar. Tap Done when finished.

STEP 6: Rename the logo you pasted to icon@2x.png by tapping the blue arrow icon to the right of it. Tap Done when finished.

STEP 7: Respring or restart your device.

Remember, the above steps can be followed by any other applications installed on your iPhone, which means you can change the icon of any app by using the above steps. 

As such, it is highly recommended that you backup your device to iTunes or iCloud beforehand. Let us know how you fare in the comments.

6.1.3 & 6.1.5 3GS/A4 untether Cydia package

Hello everyone,

With the unexpected release of the evasi0n7 jailbreak, we are finally able to release the 3GS/A4 6.1.3 + 6.1.5 untether Cydia package.

To grab it...

1) Have a tethered jailbreak (either via redsn0w [Point to 6.0 IPSW] or sn0wbreeze).
2) Open Cydia.
3) Click the "Changes" tab in the footer.
4) Press the "Refresh" button in the top left corner.
5) After "Reloading Data", perform a search for "p0sixspwn" (the O is a zero).
6) Tap Install.

That's it! You're untethered.

I'll be updating sn0wbreeze to incorporate the untether directly later (No eta :P).

Our next priority is getting an A5+ jailbreak for 6.1.3/6.1.4 out. As I stated on Twitter, we expect it should be out by Christmas day. So if you don't feel like upgrading to iOS 7 and prefer 6.1.3/6.1.4, sit tight for a bit. :)

Apple iOS 7.1 beta 3 seeded to testing partners, public release in March

Apple has begun seeding a new build of iOS 7  to testing partners, we have learned from a trusted source. iOS 7.1 beta 3 is said to bring several important bug fixes in addition to some new features, though our source was uncomfortable detailing these for us at this time. The new build has not yet been released to developers, who just gained access to iOS 7.1 beta 2 on on December 13th. Additionally, as strange as it may be, we are told that iOS 7.1 will probably not be released to the public until sometime in March. Apple has historically released an iOS update around January, but it could be that Apple’s upcoming iOS in the Car feature is the reason for the delay here.

Appsync iOS 7 - How To Install Appsync iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad....

Step 1: The first thing you will need to do is iOS 7 

Jailbreak  (read more here)  running the iOS 7 firmware 

untethered. If you would like help with this process go to the 

How To Jailbreak Section.

Step 2: After you ensure you are Jailbroken you must 

launched Cydia, tap the “Sources” Tab, tap the Sources 

section and finally tap the Edit button in the top right hand 

corner of the screen.

Step 3:

You should now see an Add Button appear in the top left corner of the screen.
Tap the Add button now and type in the following source:

After typing the source above tap the Add Source button.

Step 4: With the hackulous source now added into Cydia go into the Evad3rs.net Source by tapping on it and you should see AppSync for iOS 7+.

Install AppSync for iOS 7.0+ and then restart your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Congratulations! You have just installed AppSync and you can install  apps on the iOS 7 firmware.

DONT FORGET : If you 7.0.4 OTA updated your iPhone,iPad > Back it up iTunes and make full restore before applying Jailbreak!!!

Step 1: Download jailbreak tool Evasi0n 7 for Windows / Mac [ Download Page ]

Step 2: Extract the package.
    * If Mac OS X Mavericks, Lion -> Go to "System Preferences" > Security&Privacy > Allow App.

Step 3: Tap on Evasi0n 7 to run it.


Step 4: If your device has a passcode set, unlock your device and go to
            Settings > General > Passcode Lock > and select Turn Passcode Off.

Step 5: Plug in your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch to your Mac or PC, and wait for Evasi0n 7 to recognize it.

 

Step 6: You should see a message on Evasi0n 7.

Step 7: Click on "Jailbreak" button. Wait..

Step 8: Tap the Evasi0n 7 icon on your device’s Home screen:

iDevice will reboot a few times. If the process gets stuck at any point, it’s safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home), and rerun the process.

We have the good news. iOS 7.1 is jailbreak safe, completely safe to update to iOS 7.1 as it will not hinder your chances to jailbreak for new iOS 7.1, should we ever get a jailbreak.

The news, which was first broken by hacker iH8sn0w, has been confirmed shortly after by MuscleNerd, although his tweet was a little more obscure and still contained the advice to stay away from it.

Computer security expert Stefan Esser,aka i0n1c, claims that Apple has received in order vulnerabilities that hackers use to prepare the jailbreak iOS 7.1. According to Esser , the final version of iOS 7.1 operating system the company will block the work of the test code crackers.

According to him , the code was in the hands of a person who is not in a group of hackers , but worked with them for a while.

He noted that the development of jailbreak iOS 7 progressing , but slowly. However Esser still insists that hackers exploit copied , but they do not know it . Moreover, he argues that several security holes in iOS 7 were Apple.

If words Esser untrue , it means that the next public version of the operating system Apple - iOS 7.1 - will be closed to jailbreak vulnerability . Therefore, most likely , the exploit to install unofficial extensions , which is prepared Evad3rs, will only be available for devices on iOS 7.0.4. How to Downgrade 7.1 to 7.0.4:

Step 1: Turn the device off, connect it to the computer via USB, and launch iTunes

Step 2:  Place the iOS device into DFU mode: with the device off, hold down the Power and Home buttons together for 10 seconds then release the power button, continue holding Home button until iTunes notifies you of a device in recovery mode being detected. The devices screen should stay black as if turned off.

Step 3: Restore within iTunes through either method a or b:
a) Restore from the iOS 7.0.4 backup you made prior to installing iOS 7.1 beta 2
b) Download iOS 7.0.4 from here
    Restore to iOS 7.0.4 IPSW by Option-Clicking the “Restore” button, and then restore from iCloud backup when finished

Step 4: Let iTunes restore back to iOS 7.0.4, the device will reboot when finished

Typically you can’t downgrade iOS 7.1 beta versions so easily, but because Apple is still signing iOS 7.0.4 this allows downgrading to commence with minimal effort.

After a long vacation… ok not really a vacation. After a long time away, I updated TinyUmbrella for 7.0.4 support. The support is limited as restoring local firmware is severely hindered on newer devices. Older devices (iPhone 3GS in particular and some iPhone 4 devices – with help) can still benefit from local restores if even in a small way.
